Default Looking for a decent spotting scope under $100

I have a tight budget and want to buy an inexpensive spotting scope for when I go target shooting. The range I currently go to has a long target off 100 yards. I will shoot some at that and some at the 50 yard target. I currently use 10x binoculars, but they are nowhere near enough. I saw a couple on Amazon for under a $100 and was hoping for some opinions on them or maybe a push in another direction.

Amazon.com: Barska CO11502 20-60x60 Waterproof Straight Spotting Scope with Tripod: Sports & Outdoors

Amazon.com: Tasco World Class 20-60x60 Zoom Spotting Scope w/Mountable Tripod & 45 degree EP: Sports & Outdoors

Thanks,
Mark

i use 10x binos at 100yds and have no problem seeing 22cal holes. i don't think you will have much luck in your price range. of course, it matters what you consider decent.

I had a Barska. JUNK, I sent it back for a refund

In your price range I think Bushnell is the best bang for the buck. Natchez has some good deals if you do not mind refurbished. They have new also, cheaper than Midway. Also look at Optics Planet

Based on the items I looked at it seems these guys are on average $10 more for every scope I looked at. Maybe the higher priced scopes are better priced there.

I am leaning towards a Braska Blackhawk, but I am not completely convinced yet.
The Bushnell linked looks good, but people have been complaining about the eye piece breaking when adjusting it.

I've got a 12-50x Winchester-branded I'd sell for $75. It has a hardcase, softcase, and tripod. Has all original papers and accessories in the case. I paid $100 for it, and it is going on eBay later today. PM me if interested, I can send some pics along.

I wanted the same thing, just for use at the range and under $100. In particular, I wanted something with an angled eyepiece. After a lot of shopping around I bought a Simmons Blazer 20-60x60 at WalMart for about $60. It ain't no Swarovski, but it gets the job done fine, and I would buy it again. As someone else noted, in this price range, unfortunately, there is a lot of junk. Buying at a local retailer rather than through the net would make return easier, I would think.

Slightly off-topic, but as far as buying optics over the net I've been really happy with Bear Basin. Prices are usually about as good as it gets and product and service are fine.

I bought the Barska from Amazon. They are pretty easy to return to if I don't like it. Mostly positive reviews from the three or four sites I checked out. The occasional bad review, but that is to be expected I guess.

Look at some of the big box Sporting goods stores. I got a real good deal on a scope that was a store demo. No box but everything else and at less than 50% cost. That was at Scheel's a few years ago.
