Default Timing check- not DCU, but....

Have revolver. Timing check right-handed, all six chambers are very good (yea!). Left-handed, the cylinder stop ball doesn't engage the stop slot on two chambers until the hammer starts to fall. Does this indicate the need for a trigger boss or sideplate shim? If I was to place a shim, would I place it on top of the trigger as the revolver is laying on its side, so it rides between the trigger and the boss on the sideplate? The boss on the sideplate and the trigger body are both pristine; no wear marks to indicate rubbing- at all.

I peened the two ratchets with great success- no binding, great carry-up both left and right-handed now, but that doesn't change the question.

...and yes, I test my timing using DA pull, rather than testing on SA pull as recommended by S&W. After all, they only design and build the things .

Thank you for any help.

.

NO Sideplate shims correct a trigger that is rubbing on the frame. Sometimes it looks bad and they want it corrected.

To correct the "sing" you adjust (bent) the hand pin on the hand itself.

Basic notes in the faq sticky above.
