Default Nice .38 Top Break with target sights

I've never seen one of these with target sights before. This gun was also at the Poulin auction. It was in a lot of two that got auctioned off yesterday. Don't know if this is a 4th or a 5th but I think it may be a 5th model. The description in the section of 5th models in the SCSW mentions "Scarce target sights consisted of a square cut blade pinned in the barrel rib, with rear sight being an adjustable type on the barrel latch"

I think this one is just such an animal. It was beautiful!

I saw that in the on-line catalog. Do you know what it went for? If my "gun account" wasn't financially embarrassed currently I would have considered bidding on that.

I do not. The results of the auction are usually posted in 2 or 3 weeks.

I just went through their online catalog & couldn't find this the first time. They didn't even have a photo posted of it in the catalog!! If you wouldn't have included the lot tag in your photo I wouldn't have been able to find it at all. Are their Pre-Auction Estimates always this low?? If I were still into collecting Top-Breaks,like I did for many years,I think I'd have to make it a point to make the trip to Maine when they have their firearms auctions!! There were also some interesting Engraved Tip-Ups in the auction that I believe were "Factory" Engraved that had low estimates as well. Very Interesting Auction!!!!!!!!

There estimates are usually pretty much on. But sometimes stuff goes much higher than the estimate. When I find out the auction results I will post what this one sold for.

Twaits,
Boy,I was just going through the Realized Prices from the Auction & they sold the Lot for $643.50 including the Buyers Premium!! The Nickeled 3rd Model New Departure was a Super Nice Revolver as well!! If this "Letters" someone got the buy of a lifetime!! Like I mentioned your thread on the Short-Barreled 38 New Departure Bicycle Revolver. I'm going to have to keep tabs on their auctions!! You live near there, how often do they have Firearms Auctions like this??

They hold them twice a year at Julia and Poulin. Both houses are next to each other and they are related by family. Poulin is always first followed by Julia. I'm hoping to attend the october auction. Like I said in another thread I will give a heads up here before the auction and if anyone wants me to check anything over for them and report back I would be happy to.
