I am not one who is usually interested in commemoratives, but this one, and its mate, caught my eye at a live auction this weekend. It is new/unfired and comes in a wood display case. Apparently it was made in celebration of the 100th year of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and it is marked to reflect that. The back strap is also engraved with the original owners name, Capt. J. R. Bowering, NJSP. There were other guns from the NJSP in the estate, but this is the only one I got out of the bunch. It is a M 36-7 (go figure, a Chief Special), and is engraved on the left side, below the cylinder
No. 9.
I will probably be selling the gun, as I don't have any real interest in continuing to own it. It will not go cheap because I have quite a bit invested in it. If I decide to do that, I will post in the appropreate area of this website.
I will replace the pictures with better ones when the lighting is better.
