Default New 29-2 8 3/8

I was in the shower this morning thinking "you know I don't own an 8 3/8" N frame (have 4", 5", 6" 6.5" of various calibers), I should look for one. Well this gun pops up on a local board at a reasonable price with all the extras. I gotta stop thinking in the shower

Pictures are from the seller

Uh....Oh!!! Another member has contracted the dread "8 3/8 N frame disease"..... Once you have it there is no known cure... especially if your first one is as pretty as yours.

Stay away from those evil gun shows and gun websites or you'll soon have a long barreled 25, 27, 57 and 629 to compound the pain and suffering....

I can attest to the dreaded "8 3/8 N frame disease"...It begins to migrate too, into "8 3/8 L" and even "8 3/8 K" frame issues...

Nice gun, what did you pay?

Have fun and be safe.

I picked mine up at a gun show last year just so I cauld have all the barrel lengths for the Model 29-2. You got a beauty and it's in wonderful condition.

I also have in 8 3/8 barreled 14-4, 17-4, 27-2, and 629 no dash so yes they can be addictive.

I have 2 8 3/8" K-22s (a 17-4 and a 48-3) great guns to shoot. I saw this one locally (no shipping or ffl fees) with everything for $800 firm and while not a great price, not too bad I didn't think. I will pay a little more for a local purchase that I can inspect first, plus this is such a complete package. This will be my last 8 3/8 N frame.............yahh right

A gunsmith can get and install one in any color you want or you can check with Brownells and see if the sell them and install it yourself. You can also call S&W and see if they have the right one for sale.

Yeah, I come by way of the 8 inch disease quite naturally, I am 6'5" and about 350 lbs. I have a 17, 25 & 27 and they all are really balanced and feel great in my hands. Oh how could I forget the other 2 kids, a 14 and a 629.
