Question thinking about selling 29-2 nickle 29-2 8 3/8 blue

I going to make some room in the safe for Mod 25 and to do it i need to sell my
29-2 4" nickle w/ wood presentation case and papers s#N6652** 1979
P&R TH TT
the gun is clean and has been shot very little maybe a box. I would put it at excellent condition
no yoke play and no cylinder end shake .004 barrel – cylinder gap
AND
29-2 8 3/8” blue w/ wood presentation case S# N6187** 1979
P&R TH TT
the gun is clean and has been shot maybe a 5 boxs. I would put it at almost excellent condition
no yoke play and no cylinder end shake .005 barrel – cylinder gap

not sure what to ask? I have seen them at $ 750-1100 I want to be fair, especially if I sell them here, but I need to make some $$ for the 25

I’m going to try and shoot some better pictures (I have seen some images on the forum that I think I can replicate them) over the next few days

Any ideas on Value and should I sell them here or elsewhere ..

Thanks in advance for any insight

I would guess you would find more than a few willing buyers for both at the lower end of your price range here on the Forum. Perhaps a little harder sell at the upper end, but you never know how much someone wants a specific gun until you list it for sale. Hope this is helpful.

I would think with the presentation cases the prices should be more like $850 for each.

Myself I would make more room in the safe or be looking for another, or a larger safe. Just my 2 cents

I think $850 for the 29-2 is a fair price.

Have fun and be safe.

I agree with all the above on the $850 pricing. If you are not a big hunter or target shooter, me personally I would sell the 8 3/8" and keep the 4". Everyone wants the 4" and I cant blame them. They are not "rare" by no means but are getting a little harder to find in the condition like yours and most people like to keep them when they have them. But if you are going to sell them sell them here so you know they will be going to a good home and to someone who truly appreciates a fine gun.

I second keeping them. While they might make someone else very happy, I bet you find that you miss them and would end up paying more to replace them and not in as good a condition. If nothing else I would try for a straight local trade where you can do a FTF and see each other's guns. I regret every gun I have ever sold or traded.

I just paid $800 for a 8 3/8 blued, with all the accessories like yours. Mine is in as good or better shape than you describe. I got a bit of a deal. I think $850ish is about right.

Wink You guys stink! In a good way !!!

As in, now you are making me think twice about the 29's....
And for the record, I didn't just wake up one
morning and decide to sell 2 beautiful 29-2's, it took me a long time to even consider selling them and when I was finally there, boom!!!
You guys tell me I'll regret it and I'll probably never find another in the same or better condition.
They say this forum is free, my eye, it just cost me the price of a pristine mod 25..

Thanks for the wake up call

Regards.

Glad you are going to keep them! Next year the 4" will cost you a grand to replace and the 8 3/8" will be nine hundred. If you want the 25 put it on layaway.
