Default 686 SSR grip gap. Is this normal?

So this has always kinda bugged me since I picked this up new in February, 2011. No amount of adjustment can close the gap on the stock rubber grips... Is this normal, or are there other rubber grips that are better? I find the edges quite sharp because of the gapping, though some of this is because the grip doesn't meet the trigger guard completely... (nothing to do with the other gap).

I'm not sure what size these factory grips are. I believe they are made by Hogue?

Thanks, guys!

I think these are Uncle Mike's rubber stocks. The Hogue Monogrip does not have a front/rear seam since it is one-piece, and I have not seen one with any fit problems on a gun. Your 686 is an L frame but it has the same grip frame dimensions as a RB K frame. Hope this is helpful.
