Best touch-up for scratch on rear sight?
I have an unsightly surface scratch on the rear sight of my 625. What would be the best product to use to do a quick touch-up? It looks more matt black than blue to me.
Thanks for any info.

I've bought a cold blue from Brownells that works great and it comes in a blue plastic bottle. I have a Sig P228 that is my carry gun the the front of the slide was showing wear and I applied this stuff and it looks as new. I washed the area that needed the tough up with some gas on a cloth and then dried it off and I apllied the cold blue and let it sit on the front of the slide for 5 minutes and then I wiped the excess off.

Alde, if this is a carry gun it's not the first unsightly scratch you will experience. I just chalk them up to character. I agree with fyimo that a good cold blue touch up may work or some outlets carry a black touch up pen that you could try. Often times the repair makes the scratch stand out and look worse. The pen is made by Birchwood Casey if that helps.

I usually don't worry about scratches but this one bothers me because it's an idiot mark. I did it while changing the rear sight blade. The gun is no safe queen and it will be carried once it's all set up the way I like it. It's a 3" 625-3 that is a super revolver.
I will look into your suggestions and see what works. Thanks for the help.

Quick touch-up
Use a permanent ink black magic marker...it works great!

You guys picked a winner. I picked up one of those Birchwood Casey Blue Pens and it worked great. The scratches are all but gone and very hard to see.
Thanks for the tip.
