Less than a month ago one sold through the classifieds for $700. I don't recall for sure if that included shipping but I think it did. The seller had it in the classifieds here and on the rugerforum. He started at $800. The last price asked in the ads was $700 but he might have settled for less through PMs.

I think the 4 inchers would bring more because fewer were made and short barrels are popular. Thousands more 3" Lew Hortons were made than 4 inchers. I think the 4 inchers are an under appreciated sleeper in the collectors market that collectors who like its traditional style mostly pass over buying 4" 24s instead.

whats what the asking price is, $700. i have wanted a 624 for awhile now...maybe its the time to get it.

of course a short barrel 624 would be even sweeter, i dont want to pay the price they command.

thanks,

Kris

Yep, you should get it now, as the price will only go up in the future.

I am the purchaser of the above mentioned 624 6.5". Final price was $650 shipped. The gun was perfect NIB still with the inspectors sticker on bottom of buttstock. However no paperwork was included, that was known up front, I had an extra set of papers for it already.
To me $700 for a NIB, with all paperwork is reasonable, I would certainly buy another one for that, as was previously said, they will not make anymore and the prices will only go up.
Compare these fine old firearms with what is being offered now and there is no need to think about it further. Of course the old ones don't come with a free hole in them.

I would think $700 is a good price these days. I'll tell you one thing, if I had it, it wouldn't be NIB for two days! My 4" is one of my favorite firearms, probably shoot it more than any other. I just love the way they look, handle and shoot.
