Midway through last year my local range was forced out of business, but that is another story, so I have been without a place to shoot for almost a year now. I have been going to a few .22 matches but really don't have the time there after the matches to shoot my handguns or large caliber rifles. Over the holiday weekend I finally had a chance to spend 3-4 hours just shooting my revolvers. I took along two revolvers that I have not shot yet other than a quick function test after a .22 match.
The first gun is my 586 project Custom Combat Magnum.

After finally deciding on which grips to use, I tried 3 different styles. The rubbers just felt the best and fit the Combat portion of the build. I got to shoot about 50 rounds of full boat magnums and 50 .38 wadcutters I am very pleased with the way it is shooting.
The group in this picture is using one cylinder full of 158 grain XTPs over 15.2 grains of 4227 and one cylinder of hard cast 148 wadcutters over 3.2 grains of Bullseye at 25 feet. I shot the .357 group and 45Wheelgun shot the .38 group.
The other gun I took out to put through it's paces was my Model 64 no dash.
Check Model 64 tapered barrel off the list.
I was very happy with the way this gun shot as well. It was consistently chewing out one ragged hole in the targets at various distances. It felt great to get back on the range and sling some lead.
