Too close to my house!
Firefighters battle grass fire near Katy | khou.com Houston
we got a ten minute deluge around 430 this morning.
This afternoon I got about 6 drops on my windshield.
If the rain in the forecast does not come in the wee hours of wednesday morning...
I'm thinking it's going to rain all day, because wednesday is my in-the-car-all-day 150 miles day. So I know my tires are good but I wonder if my wiper blades have dry rotted from lack of use?

Supposedly three days of scattered thunderstorms coming our way. Good luck on getting some in your area.

We are WAY low on rain here for the season. It keeps teasing us but moves out before we get any moisture.

I had a sister-in-law that lived in a subdivision in Katy.
ALL of the houses and ALL of the yards looked THE SAME. As an added bonus you couldn't park a car outside - had to be in a garage and the doors closed.
I figured the whole place was for the Witness Protection Program.
They also had THEE biggest, hungriest mosquitoes I've ever had the pleasure to beat to death.

I can neither confirm nor deny any of this as we were instructed not to discuss these topics in any circumstances.
In other news, it's raining. For real raining! Was awakened by a thunderblast that made me jump 6 inches off the bed. In related news, the new dog is terrified of thunder--he's only been here a couple weeks and I did not know--I took mercy and put him in a bathroom. He was shaking all over as he GI Joe crawled all the way from the back door to said bathroom. Poor guy.

Awwww... poor guy. Our departed mutt Shovelhead was that way with fireworks. He had a cubby in the bedroom closet. Whenever the fireworks started that's where he would go.
He was otherwise a very macho little boy.

Send some of that rain to the other end of Texas, please. We've had 0.16 inch so far this year.

I would love to. The rain storm cost my company about 100,000$ for lost production do to waiting for the ground conditions to dry enough so we can get back to work. Why did it have to rain when we had only 6 more days till the job was done!

Well, it looks like the good times are over, rainwise, and we're back to normal here in Beautiful Brazoria County.
I went to the range this morning and by 1030 I was soaked down to my socks. Temp at 92 and the humidity matched.
Summer started here around February 25. August and September are looking to be a real treat.
I'd gripe some more, but I was just looking at some footage from Minot. Heaven help those poor people.
I have fond memories of Katy, Texas. Though you wouldn't believe it now, Katy once had some of the best duck hunting in Texas. The quackers and honkers loved the rice fields, which was just about all you could find around there. Those days are long gone, along with the rice fields and the ducks.

Yes, we got three days of rain in Clear Lake and everything is good for now in my yard (We get a heavy dew from Galveston Bay every morning). Mandatory water rationing though just south in League City. I am afraid when the rain comes, we will get it all at once.
