Thumbs up Jim Supica & Richard Nahas, Standard Catalog of S&W

I just received my 3rd edition of the Standard Catalog yesterday (Saturday) ordered it through Amazon.

Why I have not purchased this before now, I have no idea??

What a wonderful book! Even for those that are not die hard collectors, the amount of information is amazing.

It is also great to see names from this forum in the list of Contributors.

All this information in one hard covered book for less than the price of a box of premium ammunition ($28.00 shipped!) Everyone should have a copy. It's a bargin at twice the price.

Thank you for the fine reference.

Ya know, we need a rule here. Y'all can stay around and lurk or make maybe your first 25 posts or 2 months. Then you've got to somehow prove you've bought the book or "out you go." It answers so many of your questions if you just bother to read it. Even the authors suggest its not 100% perfect. No one really knows all the answers. There is so much not documented and we can only surmise what the answers really are. The factory didn't document trivial things, the ones we feel are so important today. But buying the book, reading, and then handling a few hundred guns a year for a few decades tends to open some eyes.

I don't know why, but I put off buying the SCS&W 3rd, as well.
The price is actually quite low, considering. I guess it just seemed
to me to be a large chunk of change for s book. At any rate, I did
get the book and it is money well spent. TACC1

Then 20 or 30 of you can sit around and chat amongst yourselves. I'm sure the site owners would LOVE the idea...

I got my copy this Father's Day. And no, I'm not a collector but I do think the book is a must have for any S&W fan.
