Default Switching Curved / Straight back-strap grips

I know this has probably been discussed a thousand times, but....

How do you swap straight to curved back grips? I have a 4553 with straight grips that I want to switch to curved, like my 6906. I called S&W and they said the curved back-strap grips are on back order. I've been searching for grips for the 4513 and everything I find is the stock straight grips.

I saw Hogue makes a grip, but I'm not sold on it.

What other frames/models have a curved back-strap grip that I can swap to?

Thanks...

chris

To the best of my knowledge there never were curved grips for the compact 4500 frame. Just like there are no straight ones for the 6900 frame. The only models that seem to have both styles available are the full size frames. The Hogues do have a slight curve to them, but some don't care for rubber grips on conceal carry guns.

Just scanned the S&W parts list...yes, for those models just the straight grips are listed.

Thanks guys.

Whoever I talked to at S&W said the part number was 20360 for the curved back-strap grips. I'm guessing he was mistaken as I can't find any compact curved back 45xx series grips on the internet.

I might try the pachmayr grip sleeve, as it doesn't seem like the straight back grips are working for me.

I've got the Hogues on my 3913/4040PD and they do have a slight arch to them. I've never used them for the 4500/4000 single stack frames myself.

I've owned a 5903, 5906, 5946, and a 6906 with the curved backstraps. I picked up a 915 with the straight ones. For me, the straight ones are a much better fit. If I ever pick up another 5906, the straight ones are going on.
