Get color crayola or wax pencil, and some wd40. Rub into and fill the letters wipe off excess with wd40 and rag. Make sure u don't have any oil or dirt in the letters before you do it.

Instead of WD-40 I used Remmingtom Oil wipes with good results.

I've tried two brands of crayons and some brands work better.

I've had my 15-22 in the trunk of my car with 100+ degree temps and had no problem with melting/bleeding.

I remember the problems we had when we left our crayons in the car when we were younger....

Did this today, came out great!..used regular crayola crayons and had no problems at all. Shoot a bunch of rounds through it after and none of the crayon budged. Took me all of 5 minuets to do this as well, defiantly recommend this to everyone

This is a Bushmaster that I used Testors to fill in with:

Clean first with alcohol to degrease the surface. Use a fine brush to dab in paint. Any spill over, use a flat hard object like a small wood block and wrap paper towel soaked with thinner around an edge and wipe off excess before it dries. It's just a little better than crayon and you can still remove it with acetone later if you want. Any discoloration around it is gone, this is from still wet with thinner in a few spots.

acetone and toothpick or tooth brush will remove crayon or paint. This is an outside job.

I suggest using a lacquer-Stik:

Amazon.com: Lacquer-Stik Paintstick, White: Home Improvement

Goes on like tacticrayola, but is more permanent. If your going to be changing colors then i guess stick with crayola, people have been doing it this way forever and it seems to hold up well. If you want permanence use the lacquer stik.

I've always used china markers, available in most hobby shops. They always worked best for me. Available in several colors too. For silver or gold, try the silver or gold leaf paste, also available in hobby shops. Rub it in, let it dry, then use 0000 steel wool and lightly rub off excess material. Lasts a long time, but easily removed with a little WD-40 and a soft bristle tooth brush.

Why WD-40? Just wondering if another common gun or household product might work as well?

i got tired of looking at the plain-jane look on my MOE, i did this didn't clean it out first, used Mostly white and red, colored everything in took about 4 times for the M&P 15-22 part to fill in as were everything else filled in in about 2, I used points whenever I could and used some elbow grease behind it (retard strength) wiped it off with some cleaning swabs and some rem oil, perfect ever since, I love it everyone one else who has seen it says it looks like a totally different gun...!!!
