Default Dog Vest

Zeb chased his first bunny the other day, I saw it and tried to show him but he was too busy doing the puppy romp. When he finally saw the bunny it was to late, the bunny was already fixated on him. Zeb gave him a good run but lost him in the weeds. Thing was I lost Zeb in the weeds, I did not loose him I just lost sight of him. So I'm looking for suggestions on a vest for my dog. I prefer blaze orange with reflective stripes. He just disappears in the underbrush. I was thinking since he is low slung something with some chest protection. What do you use? And how do you like it?

Had the same problem, sort of, with Labs/Setters. [I'll admit they're not as short as a DH, but at the farm, the grass is taller.]

Ever since bird season a decade ago, when a brainless "hunter" filled my dog's butt with shot, I've taken to putting blaze orange reflective collars on them. I'm not sure where I got it, but I think it was Foster and Smith online.

It just sticks on with velcro, so they can't get hung up on it and is highly visible.

Then, take a page from the bird hunting crowd, and buy a small bell to put on the collar. This system has worked really well for me.

If I can't see them now, I can hear them...and if I really mean business, and am worried about being in strange geography, out of state, I put the GPS locator collars on them. Expensive, but it works like a charm.

Is there a snakebit resistant vest? I just spent nearly $6,000 to have my little guy treated after a bad strike.

You probably already know this, but all those tags hanging down are going to get the little feller choked out. If you run him in the woods please take them off first. My setter has a vest. My advice is to get one that won't snag on things and breaths well. I've even seen them with ice pack pockets for upland dogs.
