My new take down case
Well me and my buddy talked about making a case for my smooth bore 22,this is what we came up with. Keep in mind this was our first attempt. I am thinking about doing the foam with velvet. On the next case we are going to do wooden inserts instead of foam. I did the design and leather work and my buddy made the box. It was my first try at the leather work so please dont laugh to hard!

Nice job on the case. Be aware that some foam will collect moisture and make a gun rust. I would hate to see that. Don

I think that is a really good effort on your part. +1 on the foam issue.

Looks Great !!!
Good looking wood, too.
Really like the outer case recessed panel. Ever consider lining that leather.?

Yeah I'm working on the lining issues. I have some days off soon,so I will work on the inside soon. Once I get the lining took care of I will be working on the same type of case with more leather and another half to go on top of the box. Kind of like a double case for another gun. The foam idea I didnt like but we used the materials that we had. Thanks for all the ideas, I appreciate all the input!

Hi Rigger,
The foam you have in your case will hold moisture and your gun will be a mess in a year. You need to use a rigid closed cell foam and cover that with material.
Good luck.

Ok,dont laugh to hard, but i had some time and this is what I came up with. It looks better than it did. I stitched up a cleaning kit so that all I need will be in the case. Thanks.
