Default FBI 1076 Question

I found a LNIB 1076. Box and docs, trigger lock, 3 mags with white followers.

The product code on the box is 108248. The Julian date code is 8101. Is there any way to tell if this is an FBI 1076 - short of a Jinks letter?

Asking is $650. Is that about what a non FBI 1076 brings these days? If it is an FBI 1076, what does that make it worth? Thanks! Regards 18DAI

What little I know about the FBI guns, it should not have the magazine disconnect, most had the front strap cross checkered and box labels had used stamped on them. Also on any 1076 look for the two punch marks under the decocker that show the decocker upgrade.

Prefix should be "TEU" and should be stamped with the "Caution - Capable of firing with magazine removed." Approx. 2400 made. Should also have two-dot modified sights (whatever that means).

Regardless, well worth $650, especially with 3 mags.

As Alan stated above all the info can be found in the link above. Some important points from that thread. FBI guns are in many variations. They can begin with a variety of prefixes. The TEU ones are of the first batch and will likely letter as FBI guns, but not agent used guns. Later guns that were either used by agents are sent to the academy to be used and then sent back can have a variety of prefixes. Some FBI guns have checkered front straps, some have just the vertical grooves, and most have the checkered trigger guards. The warning on the slide can also be an indicator but it has to be the right warning "Caution Capabale of Firing with the Magazine Removed" or not have a warning at all. That's a start but not all the info. Rarely do LNIB or NIB guns letter as FBI guns but anything is possible.

Thanks gents. I'm going to pass on this one.

For those who are interested, the 1076 is at Kathye's Pawn in Reidsville NC. Nice folks to deal with, and they will ship out of state - EXCEPT to CA.

I am not affiliated with the shop, just a satisfied customer. Regards 18DAI.
