I have a 3" Asland 66-2 with the box and fixins that I bought NIB in 85 for $275.00. I woudn't sell it for anything as its my favorite S&W bar none! Back when the eyes were good a milk jug was vey unsafe at 100 yards. They are uncannly accurate for a semi snub and handle perfectly IMO. I did use it for a SD revolver when Florida's CC Permit program came on line in the mid 80's but swapped over to a 1911 Springer that I had worked over as I shoot them faster and more accuately than any other handgun and the prices on them 3" S&W's started rising.
If I were you I would not blink at that price and jump on it quick before some lucky fella beats ya too it! You won't regret it and it's a good investment. If he would come down you're gtting a really good deal. You'll hear some folks lucking into one much cheaper but they are LUCKY.
I still shoot the 66 but only with factory .38's or reloaded light LSWC's in 158 grain bullets.
Here'a a pic of it polished up wearing Ahrend boot grips to nudge ya into buying that baby. Them same grips are on my 2.5" 66-2 that's comfortably riding in my shorts as I type this in a LOBO IWB holster. Have went full circle and back to packing a revolver with 2 speed strips.
