Question For those of you CCWing an SD9/40...

....what are your impressions of the weapon (carriability, comfort, etc) so far? What holster and belt combo are you using? If you carry a spare mag, how are you doing it? TIA

Up until a few months ago, I carried a Sigma (SW40GVE), which is the same size as the SD, everyday for several years. Carried IWB in a Kholster at about 4:30 (strong side) with a Wilderness Tactical 5-stitch Instructor Belt. Spare mag was carried rear pocket, weak side. My EDC is now a M&P40c in the same rig. This is a VERY comfortable setup with either gun. Have worn for 16+ hours at a time on many occasions.

I carry mine frequently. I like it. Light weight, hi capacity, reliable and decently accurate. Same size as a Glock 19. My favorite part is that the SD's are so inexpensive - I don't worry about it getting goobered up from being well used.

Thanks, guys. I briefly CCW'd an M&P45 a couple of years ago...until a buddy offered me a trade I couldn't refuse (a sweet European variant SIG P220 in 45acp)..and often 'forgot' I had it on. At the time I used a FOBUS 'Evolution' paddle holster for it and was very impressed.

Carry OWB in a Desantius holster with a belt made of leather by a friend of mine. Leather is stiff and 1/4" thick to keep it from rolling out at the top. Double stitched top and bottom. Weapon has 15 + 1 in pipe, extra 15 mag in center console. Never away from vehicle that long so I do not carry an extra mag.

Almost got an SD 40 but I was at Academy Sports buying ammo and saw the gun department sales clerk drop one while showing it and the frame broke into. Clerk said that was not the first one that had broke when dropped. Decided that was not a gun for me, got the M&P .40 FS instead.

I've been carrying the SD9 in a Comp-Tac CTAC IWB kydex holster. On the off side, the spare magazine is in the Comp-Tac single mag pouch. My belt is the Spec-Ops Brand "Better BDU" belt. Worn under a shirt, it's never seen.

The CTAC is comfortable and I've worn it in varying environments.

I like the pistol and this setup.
