Not a Smith, but it is an old cop gun
I picked up this little gem, it used to be a Troy, NY police department gun. It has been refinished, but the gun was cheap enough and the action is very nice. Can't wait to shoot it.

Nice catch. I had one that someone cut down to a 2 inch barrel. It was a delightful little gun and I wish that I still had it. 38S&W was like plinking with a .22
Enjoy.

Someone went nuts with a polishing wheel while the side plate was off. She still looks good though. I always like the old Colts with the curved almost Bisley grip angle.

Just curious what the history might be with this gun. Perhaps someone in the PD would know where to locate some records. It would be interesting to find out who carried this. What's unfortunate is that every day people come across old guns, sometimes dating back to the old west, yet they have no sense of the history of it.
