New toy on the way: S&W 13-2 3" bbl P&R
Just sealed the deal on an auction site... and way stoked to see it in person! Pics also posted for preliminary viewing! I plan to put standard birds head wood S&W grips on her, altho I have a few Stag grips on Ebay that may find their way to my home...
Got her for $300, which I hope turns out to be a deal!
Whaddaya think, fellas?

Looks like she needs a Kim Ahrends fix...
A good clean up and she will be a valued member of your collection. A 13 is one that eludes me still. I have a 19 and a 65, but not that bridge between the two...

That is not a toy, that is a serious fighting machine and for $300 it was a steal even with the rubber.

A Gun is not a toy.
Very good price unless there is rust and corrosion trapped under the rubber grips.
I have one and it is a keeper.
Good luck

Extremely bad choice of words on my part...I guess I was just feeling like a kid in a toy store when I worked a deal with the seller.
I have a 3-day inspection period, and was assured the metal underneath the rubber grips is fine, but nothing ventured, nothing gained! Worst case, I am out shipping costs, and best case, I have a classic CCW that is PERFECT, IMHO for just that.
Now I just have to find a buyer for my 3" Taurus M65 .357.... which I bought when I gave up on finding a Smith 13! If anyone is interested, let me know!

3" 13's are a bit rare, great find! I have a 4" 13-1 blue with the sweetest trigger ever.

Enjoy that Model 13. I saw it for auction, at least I think it's the same but didn't bid. Glad someone from the forum was able to grab it. Enjoy it. Good price too.

I see nothing wrong with your choice of words. All of my guns are "toys". I don't fight with a gun. They are strictly for my entertainment. That makes them "toys" in the same sense that a bass boat, or a fishing rod is a "toy."
I could fight with them I suppose, but that's not why I buy them.
Anyway. Nice Model 13. That's one I don't have. Great price too. I do have a 65-5 "Ladysmith", my only non-blue, non P&R Smith. It was just too pretty to pass up.

I bought my 13-2 3" bbl. around 1989 (hard to remember) used, for $165.00
It has the best double action trigger of all my revolvers.

The very best shooting S&W I have ever owned was a Model 13 with a four-inch barrel. Sadly it was one of two guns stolen when I moved back to the USA from Ireland four years ago.
