Question on guessing ages of the 3913’s. Not specific production dates based on serial numbers but a round estimate based on how they were marked. Best I can find there seems to be 4 distinct production runs of that gun:

1. Anodized silver trigger/Hammer
2. Black trigger/hammer
Engraved S&W on left side-Slide/ No crest
Engraved Crest on frame RS
3. Black trigger/Hammer
Engraved S&W on left side-Slide/S# and model – No
crest
No Crest on frame RS
4. Black trigger/Hammer
Etched S&W on LS w/ crest on slide nothing on RS
(2001’ish?)

Now my assumptions are that #1 was the first production and #4 was the last of the runs, but where did #2 and #3 fall? Also am I missing versions? This seems that it would be the same for all 3rd generation semi’s.

I don't get to excided about minor changes, the 3913 came out in '91 and had switched to the TSW series by '99. You started seeing the blue triggers/hammers around '94. There were two versions of the TSW series 3913s' the first '98-00 with the short grip/no rail and the 2000-up original grip and luggage rack.
