Default Opinions wanted

The LGS has some tradeins from Brinks they are S&W Model 10's that are atainless and were converted to double action only with bobbed hammers, I have looked at several of them and they have the usual wear on the outside but the bores and chambers are spotless and the triggers are nice and crisp. Now for ther question, they are asking $300 cash for them is that a fair price to pay? I have others so its not like it will be my first.

I think you're looking at Model 64s. If they're in good shape then $300 sounds fair to me. I doubt you'll find them much cheaper anywhere else.

I agree that they are probably model 64's or nickel model 10's. Most likely Model 64's though and yes that's a good price.

Seems like a fair price to me for a Mod 64 if SS. If SS it should clean up with a little polishing.

Smoke, J&G has these all of the time. If memory serves me right, they start out at around $259.00 Bob

Which costs him how much, delivered, sight unseen?

You have to like DAO (which I do), but the LGS price seems reasonable, and probably won't normally be beaten, unless you just happen to be around when a private individual is selling one for less.

whtsmoke,
I just got a Stainless 4" Model 64 DAO from J&G in Arizona, it was $299.95 as advertised in VG PLUS condition, and it absolutely was. The trigger pull is nice too. The factory rubber grips were a little worn on the right side panel, but I had Crimson Trace laser grips on hand to install on it anyway. The STORE at S&W has new Wood Grips for about $31.50+shipping, and they look very nice and I have them on a Model 10.

You didn't tell us the barrel length of these guns. If they are 4" 64s then $300 or less is an excellent price. If they are 2-inchers, then that is an absolute steal. Several online sites are presently advertising used 2" 64s for between $375 and $400.
