Default .44 HE 3rd Transitional 6 1/2" Blue (WSP)

Found it on an auction site. S 62680, shipped in October '46. Not a pristine example for sure, but all matching, and there's just enough of the original marking remaining on the back strap to make me strongly suspect it's a WSP gun. Can't wait to shoot it--the action is smooth. Needs a lanyard ring, but the pin is there, and the serial has been stamped on the side of grip frame like similar examples I've seen.

Default That model is going on the list.

What's a gun like that usually cost a fella?

Thanks, Pete

Nice looking gun Jim. It has character and being complete is a treat. I will be sending you a swivel for it. Thanks for sharing!

Sir
Very nice addition.
Here are a couple pics of one from about the same time.
This is S 68675 shipped August 1946.
This one has no extra markings.

Hi Jim
Nice gun the 6 1/2 inch Transition models are scarce most of the ones I have seen went to the Washington HP.
My best guess at how many were made in this barrel length is about
200 to 250.
Nice find.

Very nice gun Jim, I really like it a lot. In fact I was the only other bidder on it when you hit the "buy it now" button. I was on $50 away from the buy it now price but simply didn't have the disposable income. I was happy to see a Forum member get it. And frankly I was surprised to see such a hard to find specimen up for auction. I thought the price was excellent too. The description said the cylinder had been refinished and was a slight different color than the rest, but I sure couldn't tell it.
Thanks for posting the pics.

Roger
