Very nice 48. Congratulations.
Mine shipped in July 59 and I can honestly say that no matter what goes to the range with me, the 48 is always the first in the bag. Its looks it too. Nowhere as nice finish wise as yours but it can sure shoot.

Had been looking for a 4 screw M48 when this showed up at the last Reno show. # K 368119, no XXX's, was shipped July 1959 also. Guy walked in the door with it. I would say it is about 98%+++. Close to 99%. All matching too. Sorry guys, but this one will not be going to the range any day soon. Big Larry

Nice guns guys. I've had several 48s over the years but never an early one.
Maybe soon. Thanks for sharing those.

I was pleased that this one was so optioned out and that it was wearing rosewood target stocks.

I remember when that 48 first appeared on this forum several months ago. The daughter was seeking a value on it and how to go about selling it.
Definitely a very desirable configuration on that gun...you've got a rare gun there. Congrats.

That's the gun. She lives about 2 hours from me, but my father actually picked it up since he was passing through the small town.
She is such a nice person, and it has been a pleasure getting to know her. It took us awhile to get the deal done, but it finally happened.
It is in amazing condition and has been lightly used.
