Default Apex on the M&P 40c

Read some about the Apex (DCAEK) duty trigger kit and am contemplating ordering for my M&P 40c. Is the trigger kit as good as it sounds. Not a huge investment for what seems to be a very nice upgrade to this pistol. Any thoughts from owners to have installed the Apex?

Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine let me shoot his 45FS which had the kit and I was really impressed by how much better his trigger was than on my 45 Compacts. I have 2 45C's and installed the DCAEK kit in them and it made a world of difference. My shot groups shrunk as a result of the smoother, lighter trigger. That said, I also have 9/40/357 Compacts, but will likely not install the kits in them, as they are already pretty nice, and a good bit lighter than the 45C's triggers were. It is really helpful to try one on another gun to decide how it feels compared to your gun, but it is surprising that a couple of springs and a couple of metal bits can really change the way the gun performs.

I installed an Apex DCAEK, RAM, and FRE yesterday, and a set of Trijicon HD sights on my 40FS. I followed the Apex videos as a guide, and they hold your hand through the process; "very helpful" is an understatement. It took me about twice the time to put in the parts as I expected, but the difference is remarkable. As has been posted elsewhere, it now feels very Glock-like, with a distinct trigger reset, and is very smooth. Nice kit. I'll see how it shoots today. This is quickly becoming my favorite pistol.

It's a big improvement. It eliminates the over travel, which was my only problem with my 40c. Shaved about 1 lb of pull too.. So now my groups are where I want them and not low.. and it just feels nice too.

It was simple to install. My only recommendation is to get a brass punch and grind it a little flat in one spot so it knocks the rear site off safely.
Oh, and do the job in a baking pan.. keeps the tiny parts from getting lost if you drop them.

Range report: Assorted .40 ammo at 15 to 25 yds indoors. Performed flawlessly. Good to go.

Good shooting. My 40C has the same setup and I like it. it did help my groups but they are not as tight as yours at 25.
