Holster Identification
Looking for ANY information concerning this holster as to a manufacturer, date of possible manufactured, the best way to preserve?
This holster accompained a SW model #1 second issue that had been owned by a soldier serving in 1864.

If it's not marked, you will probably never know who made it. These revolvers were all privately purchased, not government issued, and if you wanted a holster for it, you went to the local boot or saddle maker. The holster may or may not be contemporary with the revolver. I am suspicious that it is, because leather goods of the Civil War era I have seen are usually in much worse condition. But perhaps someone took much better care of this one.

I've been advised, here on the Forum, to use a product called
BLACKROCK Leather'N' Rich. I think I got mine from e-bay, but a
search on your browser should list some sources. TACC1
