my brother in law hooked me up (pictures added)
My BIL called the other day and asked about the cost of a 648. Stangely enough I had never heard about a 648, strange. When he said it was a 22 magnum I knew it was the stainless version of the 48 ( i have 2 of those). He is always going into the gun shops around and looking then calling me. I told him that I wasn't sure, but I would love to have one he said "give me $400 and I'll send it to you". Thats all he paid for it. I was tickled pink! I just got it yesterday after I got up from 3rd shift sleep. It's really nice came with hogue grips that feel really good. To top it all off someone had cleaned it really well, unlike most of the guns I buy. Now I have the big brother to the 617. I'm pretty sure I have some target grips to install on it. Doeboy

Good for you!! Sure would like to see some pics, though.
Is that SB, and what kind of grips came with that? Thanks, TACC1.

I'm not sure what kind of grips came with it but I'm going to put some wooden targets on it, so that it matches the 686 and the 617. The hogues feel really good but since I rarely get time to shoot, I would rather it look good than to feel good. I like guns that look alike but have different calibers. But it goes without saying I like guns that have the same caliber but different finishes. Doeboy

Not only is that a cool revolver, you have a great bil (mine's a jerk, feel sorry for my sister). If you decide to get rid of the Hogue & it's a square butt let me know, my son wants one for his grandpa's 686 that I passed on to him.

Very nice addition you have there. All my brother-in-law ever gives me is grief, wish my in-laws would have stopped at 3 kids (he's #4) Lol. I'll trade mine for yours?

They only made that 648 no dash for 5 years. The original stocks would have been goncalo alves combat (finger groove). They are going for about twice (or more) what you paid. I saw one go for $1035 on GB a month ago with the original combat stocks. Hooray for your bil.

I have one I bought 4 yrs ago with the combat stocks it's also a no dash gun. Have to say, hands down it is my accurate revolver. My old Ruger Super Single Six, that has digested 1,000s of rounds since 1968, comes in a very close second.
