First trip to the range
Just got back about two hours ago from my first range trip with the 15-22. Aside from the other fun stuff I got to shoot, like my buddy's AR-10 and 7mm Rem Mag bolt rifle, I was thoroughly impressed with this rifle. I went through a few 22 rifles last year including the horrible Mossberg tac 22 that was a jam machine and a joke to look at, and my GSG5 which was constantly giving me FTF and FTE problems. Using my flip up sights I was able to put rounds on target at 100 yards, and was getting tight groups at 50 yards. Ran 4 different types of ammo through it. Remington 38gr subsonic rounds, Winchester Super X 40gr plated round nose, Remington Thunderbolt and Armscor Precision 36gr plated hollow points. None gave me any problem, was quite happy that the subsonics did not give me any problems, as I was expecting those to not cycle. Enjoyed having my gun sound like a typewriter shooting those. Needless to say I am extremely happy with this rifle and can't wait to see what it can do with a scope. Going to try for the 200 yard steel plates on my next outing.

Congrats on your new purchase! So far i've seen nothing in an AR style that even comes close to the 15-22!! Just be aware...it's all downhill from here. At least that will apply to your bank account i mean
Haven't tried the remington sub-sonic, but winchester 40 gr sub-sonic is one of my favorite ammo to shoot. As good or better than CCI Green Tag and Eley(which all shoot subsonic) and the lack of supersonic crack makes you feel like you can shoot it anywhere.
Are those magpul MBUS's you have or one of the other brands?

Don't know if you got this yesterday but down in florida (in MO now) pretty much only shot at indoor ranges...don't know how many times people who worked there would run in when i took mine outta the case and say "Hey! You know you can't shoot a rifle in here right??" They all left silenty when they realized they got fooled by a .22 lol. But when that happens i usually ask if they want to take a few shots just to be nice (i would be embarrassed by most of there groups btw)

No, I picked up a set of plastic no name sights at the last gun show I went to. Wanted to try them out because the front sight post had a piece of fiber optic on it. Worked out great except that the rear sight only has the larger aperture on it so they become a pain shooting past 25 yards, although I was able to get a few rounds on the 100 yard target using them so they aren't that bad. I ordered a set of MBUS today, when they get in I will try those out and decide. I will probably just end up throwing the rear MBUS on and keeping my current front, since I really like that piece of fiber optic, makes it easier to see when shooting at a dark target.
Trying not to spend TOO much money on this since I am getting ready to start building an AR...if I can ever decide on a caliber. Although with what I am into it already and the few things I know I still want to buy it will easily end up being close to a $1000 rifle.

Afternoon drifter2be
You will need to find a scope with a very large range of vertical adjustment as a 22 subsonic will drop around 4 feet at 200 yards. Even high velocity 22 will drop in the 42"-45" range at 200 yards.
