Likely, the 6 digit number is the actual serial number and the 5 digit is an assembly number. This being the case, it is probably about a 1920s vintage Hand Ejector 3rd Model. It was made after the improved heat treatment was developed to strengthen the cylinders, so should be safe to shoot with modern factory (or factory equivalent) loads. The pearl (or more likely mother-of-pearl) grips, if original, are valuable, but many of them were added after market, so you need to have that confirmed by a better expert than I am.

Welcome to the Forum. Comparing known ship dates and serial numbers, most likely your HE was shipped in 1925. Do your pearl grips have S&W medallions? I also assume round butt rather than square butt?
