Default Found a 4576

Hello,
I was looking for a good used 1911 (never had one but want to try one) and came across a 4576 for sale. Asking price is $480. No box and only one mag. Never had a 3rd gen S&W. I shoot M&P's (have 3 of them) but want to try something other that striker fired. I shoot in some comp so
I would have to buy more mags for the 4576. I think they run around $35 or so. What do you think of the price of the gun? Gun has seen little action.

If the condition is acceptable to you then buy it. There were only 1,386 of these produced. I have a one and a factory letter indicating the number produced.

Here is a photo of the 4576 I picked up back in 2007.

The pistol above it is my 4566. I personally picked out for a close friend of mine to purchase new (original owner). He later traded it to my brother in the late 1990s. My Bro then traded it to me in 2006. Although it's been around a bit, it's always been close to me.

Alphabrace, I really enjoy shooting my 4576. They are hard to find and collectible. I think only 1300 some were ever made. I prefer to shoot the full stainless models over polymer. Nice find at that price.

I have found used magazines at pawn/gun shops for as little as $15.00 each for my model 4566. Look around some and you will save money on magazines. A lot of these shops will have a drawer full of used magazines.
