I just walked in from the garage when I hear a bunch of gawd-awful hammering going on. I look in the kitchen and Luscious is cracking black walnuts on a 2x6 on the counter with a framing hammer...
"Whatcha makin?"
"Double fudge cake with homemade buttercream frosting topped with black walnuts."
"I'll put the coffee on."

My wife's at the grocery store right now. Problem is, she's not a football fan no matter who's playing. It'll be interesting to see what shows up.

Got the Henry Weinhard's on ice and Little Smokies simmering in "special sauce". Crackers and cheese plates are ready. Half time will see homemade pizza and miniature tostadas that he wife has been planning for a couple days. The kids will be here in about an hour. The only thing missing is.....AARON RODGERS!

who's your pick
A lot of people in indiana are loyal to the Mannings, be it peyton or Eli.
There is rumor it will be blacked out on cable in 70 mi. radius of indy.
So we may not be watching it at all. GO GIANTS.

Well I guess here in Texas us Cowboys fans will be eating our traditional super bowl meal of Crow! Actually the wife and I made potato salad and cole slaw this morning and we will pick up a couple of racks of ribs this afternoon from Famous Dave's, good stuff! Might even manage to have a glass of swill or two.

Pot roast in the slow cooker with potatoes, carrots, and onions.
Should be fall-apart delicious by kickoff time!

Nothing special. Found some unidentified meat in the freezer-making a chili out of whatever it is. Game is kinda anti climactic for me-After the Saints and the LSU debacle-football just isn't as high on my gotta watch list as is usually would be. Every game in the post season has been a good one and I would hope that todays game won't be a blow out either way. If I gotta pick-I'll go with the Manning boy-home town and all that.
I like to think that the Saints loss to San Francisco was the beginning of a glorious arc that will culminate in the Saints winning next years Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Regrding LSU-I sure wish that Nick Saban would either come back to LSU or go someplace other than the SEC.
Anyway, I've signed up for the new LSU credit card with the new reward package; Les Miles and No Points!!

Get out the Wild Turkey, throw down a couple doubles, relax and enjoy the game with Angus.

Rotel dip with a ground venison base, tortilla chips, salsa, pigs in blankets, the little sausage thingys in a crock pot with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, and grilled BBQ chicken wings, drumsticks, and smoked sausage all washed down by abandoned (there's a short story here) Bud light followed later with a splash of Wild Turkey. (the liquid kind) Eli played at Ole Miss and Michael Boley is a Southern Miss product so I guess I have an excuse to go with the Giants. I ain't betting on this one.
