Default Anyone trade their LCP for a BG .380?

I've had an LCP for about 2 yrs. now. It has never really replaced my 638 for carry, but it's makes it's way into my pocket now & then. I had the opportunity to handle a BG .380 yesterday. I really like the feel of this pistol, I did not get to fire it though. It really fit my hand well, & the finish was impressive. My index finger met the laser sight button well, but I think it would be difficult to activate under duress. It felt more substantial in my hand, even though it is a little larger than my LCP.

I find myself considering picking up one these. Has anyone traded in their LCP for this BG?

I have a BG380 and love it. In fact I just dropped off a trailer at our farm and moseyed on down to the pit where I have built a pretty nice range. I have a box of 100 hp Lawmen in the front console of the truck and my BG380 sits in a cubby in the dash.

I rattled off a couple dozen rounds at some targets I have down there, rapid fire at 25 feet, then moved back to 75 feet just to see if I could still hit the steel. I hit 6 of 7 at that distance, with the miss going to the right.

The BG380 has never given me problems with any ammo I throw at it. I bought 1800 rounds at an auction and the lot included some reloads, some FMJ and a bunch of HP's. The BG380 just gobbles them up. I love how the slide locks back at the last round and instantly lets me know it's empty.

I think it's a great gun.

I had an LCP once and really liked the gun. I thought it made for a great tiny carry option. I ended up swapping it out for a BG .380. I too liked the feel of the BG in my hand better than the LCP. The grip feels a little bigger and I just feel as though I have a more secure grip.

The laser was surprisingly dead on right out of the box, even though I haven't used it since I first tried it. I like the option of the safety, and the real sights.. Yeah, the LCP has a good idea: keep the sights to a minimum to keep the gun as smooth as possible, but I've yet to have any sort of snagging with my BG, and I do carry it in a pocket holster now and then.

I haven't had any sort of misfire or feeding issue or anything like that. Perhaps my biggest complaint was taking it down, but after doing it enough times it's become a lot easier.

Anyway, yes, I swapped an LCP for a BG and am very happy with the change.

I finally decided on an LCP after shooting both. They are about equil and I did not want to pay for a laser I would never use. The LCP is accurate and handles everything I fire so I'll just keep it.

I think the LCP would be perfect if it had the last shot hold open.

I do like the feel of the BG380 in my hand better, although I haven't shot one. I mess with them at gunshows, have yet to find one that the laser buttons work reliably from both sides.

I do like the sight on the BG380, and if I wanted it just for target shooting, that'd be the way to go. But in a SD situation, I don't think you're going to be lining up the sites.

Shooting the LCP was a little uncomfortable because the grip is so thin. I think the grip on the BG380 would be better in this aspect. I bought the Hogue grip for my LCP and it is a real pleasure to shoot now.
