Default Look At What I Found - PICS ADDED

I know this is a S&W forum but I also know y'all love good looking pieces of history even if they were made by "that other company." I haven't had time to try and get good pictures of it yet but, as you can see, this is a very nice 6", nickel Colt Python in its original box with papers. I called Colt with the serial number and they gave me a 1992 manufacture date and they also told me the Pac grips were correct for that era. The old owner told me his wife bought it for him as a wedding gift and he only ever put eight rounds through it. It had cobwebs in the cylinder chambers and it was only in my LGS fifteen minutes when I walked in. I'll get a few good photos up as soon as I can - I'm not a photographer and can't get the right lighting with "all that glare"!

UPDATE - I was in my LGS yesterday not really looking for anything when my buddy walked over to me and asked if I "wanted to see two nice Colts that just came in?" I said "not really" out of fear but he plopped them up on the counter top anyway. There, before my eyes, was a 6" King Cobra and a 6" Anaconda, both in their original boxes and both as close as you can get to NIB without actually being NIB. Long story short - I was out the door to the bank and back before if think he knew I was even gone. Three rare Colts in less than two weeks - what a web we weave !

Pictured below from left to right - Python, King Cobra, Anaconda

Sweet with a capital "S" Reb! My one and only gripe is the cylinder latch is backwards. Minor on a beauty like that!

Think I'll have to stick with my 2 "L" frame Python wannabees, a 4" 586 and a 3" CS-1 for now.

Congrats on that beauty. Going to blow the cobwebs out? I'd just have to shoot it. I shot a friends pristine 4" Python years back and it was a delight to fire. He offered it to me for $300.00 with the box and paperwork in 82 but I was broke at the time being a E-4 with a wife and 2 daughters. BUMMER. He has since passed and his son has it and has kept good care of it.

Try taking a pic of it in a shady area with no flash on bright sunny day. I am not a good pic taker but it worked with the pics of my nickel 57 and 586.

It looks like my Python with one difference, mine is stainless steel. I bought it new in the mid 80's. It too has a 6 inch barrel. It was called the "Ultimate" model, high polished SS so except for the top strap, it looks like it is nickeled. It is wonderful to shoot and has has many more than 8 rounds through it.

Well, since you posted a picture you're forgiven for mentioning the "C**t" word on here.

Beautiful. All three of them! I remember when they introduced the Anaconda.
