Default 627 & 19, correct ammo?

I have a Model 627 and a Model 19. I have 200 rounds of 125gr. 38spl ammo, these are not hot loads but I have read where 125gr bullets can be a problem for the M19. If these 125 gr bullets have an average 38spl power charge can I use them in the M19 and is there an issue in the 627? Not being very ammo savy i guess I'm asking what is the real issue with ammo, is it the bullet weight or the powder charge that becomes a problem for pistol durability? thanks

I'm no expert but I would not be afraid to shoot any 38 special ammo out of one of my M19s. I believe it is the light weight 357s that can cause trouble.
The M627 is a N frame gun and should shoot as many 357s as your heart desires.

Magnum rounds with 125gr. were supposed to be the culprit for the K frame. It could split the forcing cone area of the barrel over time. .38 special rounds will not be a problem. The N frame, Model 627 is no problem whatsoever. You can pretty much throw anything at it in both .38 special or .357 Magnum with no worries. HTH c good

thanks for the replies, I figure its better to ask than not. How about 125gr 38spl +p in the Model 19, although not a true magnum I also read some info stating a +p 125gr 38 would not be the best choice for a k frame 357
