If you call S&W and ask nicely, they might be able to send you another set of the parts (manual safety ambi lever, ambi lever plunger & ambi lever plunger spring).
Maybe. Depends if they have any in-stock at the moment (as they haven't been ordering a lot of 'new stock' replacement/repair parts for many 3rd gen models, what with their money being diverted to new projects).
Also, the levers come in both 'plain' stainless and black finish, so it's possible you might have to put a black lever on your 6906 (which probably has the older plain stainless finish levers).
The ambi lever is a rather expensive part, BTW. I've been told that it's one of the 3rd gen parts that's cast by a vendor, and then the final "finishing" machining is done in-house after being received by S&W.
Also, depending on the vintage of the 6906, the ambi levers can be of a different design when it comes to the type of plunger needed. The old style ambi plunger had a flat head, but the plunger was shouldered, and the old style levers were machined for that profile. The new style ambi plungers are cylindrical, without the shoulder (for added strength), and the recessed spot in the new style ambi levers are machined for that profile.
You have to match the lever plunger profile to the lever (machining) profile for the proper fit.
The plunger spring is the same light blue painted ambi lever spring for both old & new styles. (NOT the heavier, unpainted body plunger spring.)
I wouldn't be surprised to find that an aftermarket vendor may not know whether they have an old or new style 9mm ambi lever, so you may end up needing to try each plunger to see which matches the lever. I can probably attach/send a picture illustrating the differences of the plungers in an email , if you wish. I think I have one somewhere ....
