Default Model 12-3 Advice

I am considering a Model 12-3, blue with a 4" barrel that is listed on a local sales network for $425. The revolver appears to be in 95% condition and has the original 2 piece blue, cardboard box, owners manual and a couple of accessories.

Other than inspecting the frame for a possible crack under the barrel and obivious signs of use, is there anything else that I should be looking for on this revolver? Plus let me know what you think a reason price should be on this piece.

Thanks,
tn hp

It's Spring time in Tennessee!

You have it right- look closely under the barrel and all around the yoke area for any cracks. Also look for gaps at the stock horns which will indicate non-original stocks. Until the -4, the Airweight K-frames were about .080" thinner than standard K-frames which necessitated stocks fitted specifically for the thinner frame.

If everything checks out, $425 sounds fair for one with the original box and the rest of the goodies.
