S&W 32 hand ejector and holster
I recently found this Smith and I am having difficulty coming up with a serial number match, there seems to be a gap in the book I had that leaves out my series of numbers.
It is serial #236xxx. Serial #'s match on barrel, frame, cylinder, grip. It has 4-1/4" barrel, front of cylinder to end of barrel, excellent bore, Blueing is 60% due to lot of blueing worn off cylinder. Functions and shoots flawless. It came with the story of: my grandmther had it forever. My guess is it sat in the holster for a lot of years.
The holster had always been with it as long as anyone knew. Anyone know anything of the holster? Any information and a value guess is much appreciated. Thank you.

Concur. Probably shipped 1915, give or take a year. With the holster, it's probably a $350-400 item in the marketplace.
Are there any maker's marks or model codes on the holster?

Thanks for the response. I took the holster to a leather guy and he said it was probably an old sears or wards sold item of that day. There are some numbers on it but its still at the leather guys place having the belt loop repaired. Will list them when I get it back. I did not know much of these pistols when I bought it. It was offered to me for $225, I just figured any Smith had to be at least worth that. Again thanks for the help.

The chemicals used to tan leather will degrade the bluing over time. It is best to not store any guns in any holsters.

Those are sweet guns, and fun to shoot. If you've got some
j-frame stocks around that you don't need for other uses, try them
on that gun. They'll extend down past the butt a little, but
it'll really feel good when shooting. I haven't found any
i-frame grips yet, so I'm going the j-frame grip route.

Yes it is fun to shoot, All I'm reloading now is 32 long it seems like. I'm doing 1.5gr trailboss behind a 90gr semi wadcutter for some pretty soft rounds my wife enjoys shooting. I found i-frame grips on gubroker to put on to preserve the original. They fit quite well with a bit of fitting and polishing.
