Default 5906 & 4506 shine at 25 yards

My wife and I went to the outdoor range yesterday. It's early in NE Ohio to be able to do that. It was an 80 F sunny day. The weather was gorgeous. We took took my Model 29 .44 magnum and 19-3 .357 revolvers. Also a springfield 1911, S&W 5906 & 4506, A CZ75B and a Ruger SR9C. Of course the S&W wheel guns at 25 yards were outstanding in SA and the 29 was great in DA too.
But the surprise was the accuracy at that range of the 4506 and 5906. The short version is my wife put the CZ and Ruger away after 2 mags because we couldn't hit the broad side with them. The 1911 was very good at 25 yards. The 4506 actually held it's own, in fact was just as accurate as the 1911!! The greatest surprise though was the 5906. It beat them all at grouping and accuracy. Both myself and my wife were taking the 3" ring out of the targets we shot with it. We are used to shooting at 7 yards indoors so this was a stretch for us. We had a great day and I can proudly say I own 2 of the finest semi auto's ever made.. S&W 5906 and 4506.
Also 2 of the finest revolvers...Model 19 .357 mag & Model 29.44 mag... just saying..

Kind of makes you wonder why S&W stopped making them huh. I would put my 4506-1 against any production 1911 on the market. Heck, I would put it up against any .45 on the market. Glad you had a fun day at the range and I'm glad your Smith's performed right up to standard expectations.

Because nobody wants to carry a 40oz handgun anymore. {except me...lol}
People are very surprised when I pull out my 3rd gens and start punching the center out of a target.

I prefer the weight with a large bore gun.

On a dark day in May, came off a boat right and quick.
A brand of pistol some said was slick.
Made of plastic and chambered in nine
Thus marked the end of the old Smith's time.

Rails, lasers, and tactical lights
Today guns sell to end any fight
Yet the old Smith still rules
For speed is fine
But accuracy is still final
