M&P Pre-10 Serial 247xxx
Just picked up a 4 inch 38 spl with the serial # 247xxx. Its in about 80% condition with some holster wear and the wrong grips on it but an old gal gave it and a second issue colt det spl in nickel to my buddy for $100 a piece. He cut me the S&W for the $100 he gave her. Good Friend, real nice gun.

Wow! And that has nothing to do with the gun or the deal. You've been registered for over ten years and this is your first post?
Although you didn't ask, your Military & Police dates to about 1916.

Unless it has a letter prefix ahead of the serial number (on the butt of the grip) - which would make about a fifty year difference in the age of the gun.
