New to this forum. Have a .32 Safety Hammerless Revolver. Blued with 3 inch barrel. It is new in box. Never fired to my knowledge and in beautiful condition. The serial number is 241xxx. Could anyone provide any information as to the year of manufacture and approximate value of this gun? I got this about 25 years ago when it was found in an office safe that hadn't been opened for many years. The company owner was going to have it destroyed but I intervened and he gave it to me. Anyhow, just curious what I have if anyone can help. Pics below. photo1.JPG
Welcome to the forum. You're right, it's a .32 Safety hammerless, 3rd model. Manufactured almost at the end of production . 1937 was the last time the gun was cataloged and serial numbers stopped at number 242981. Collector value for one that's in new condition, with the original box, as yours seems to be, can range from $850 to $1100, according to recent auction results for similar guns. Ed.
The box that the gun is in if original indicates that the gun was shipped in the first couple of years of the 1930s. The very last box used by the factory on 32 SH was a blue box. That fits with Ed's information as the gun did not sell very well at all in the 1930s. Propably less than 500 in the last 5 years.
