In today's market I think you did really well on what is a classic revolver. I sold my M-66 years ago and still regret it.

With stories like that I might just have to try the shows again.
That's a beauty and a great price.

the shows are tough most of the time, guys with tables are high priced and walkers are carrying auto's or rugers very few old smiths. the person i bought from was unloading a collection for a sick friend.

I think you did well. My 66-0 is my favorite carry gun and it's not quite as nice as that one. Just love those pinned barrels! They won't be making those again.

As long as you are happy with it who cares what others think. BTW you did good. It looks just like the one my wife confiscated from me for her gun. I carried the 66 my wife now has as a Private Investigator in the 1980s and 90s and it served me very well. I'm sure yours will do the same.

The last really nice Model 66-4 2 1/2" I saw here in San Diego was $750, no box or docs or tools. And it is a K-frame Smith... what's not to love. Enjoy.

My favorite LGS had a 66-3 like yours for exactly one day before selling it for $550 plus tax and BC fees. No box and not nearly as clean as your more collectible P&R 66-1.

If it's in proper mechanical order, you got a terrific price on an excellent gun. Enjoy.

Unfortunately, you were taken. I'll be glad to help you defray your expenses with a generous offer...
Kidding. You stole that 66. I think the economy is forcing another round of safe/closet queen disposals.
