Default Smith Number 1 question

A friend of mine has a Smith Model 1, in excellent shape, the nickel finish is excellent, the grips are very nice, nearly perfect, and it works. What would one of them go for normally?

Are you asking about a No.1 (.22 Short)? If so, which model (issue)? 1st, 2nd or 3rd.?

David,

If it's Original & Nickel-Plated it's a Model 1 3rd Issue!! 1st & 2nd Issues had Silver-Plated Frames w/Blued Barrels & Cylinders unless Special-Ordered otherwise!! The easiest way to tell is 1st & 2nd Issues have Square Butt Configurations & 3rd Issues are a Birdshead Butt Configuration!! Also, if possible, a photo would surely help us give you a reasonable assessment of it's value!! Hope this helps!!

It's a 3rd issue, I can't get a photo but the gun is all original and is very nice and clean. It is definitely a #1 in .22 short.
