Unhappy Removing ads when sold

Why are the ads removed after things are sold it is a pain looking through everything and finding out its sold. Can't these be deleted by the person listing or by the webmaster ? Please help that of the forum sucks but I love looking for things for sale and buying stuff but to go through all those ads is time consuming

We encourage that the ads be left intact, rather than be deleted, for the members to have available for future reference.

Can there be some sort of icon put next to it or a new section that it gets moved to once they are sold , I found a lot of parts/tools on there that I want but it's been 14 months since posted , I sent pm and email but if it wasnt in that section I wouldn't have wasted either one of our times. This is just suggestions , thoughts that could maybe make the forum better,I think it's one of the best out there already

The reason that the rules require that the title be edited is that when a forum staff member sees that the title has been edited it, the thread will be locked. When it's been locked, an icon of a lock appears immediately to the left of the thread.

Actually, the administrators do a really great job with the Classifieds, considering how much aggravating work it must involve. They usually lock an ad pretty fast once it gets the magic "SPF" or the like in the title.

One thing I would respectfully request is an addition to the rules in the form of a suggestion that all prices be left visible. The reason is that some sellers replace the asking price with the word "SOLD" so that those of us who see the ad too late do not know what the asking price was. Of course, if the seller insists on deleting the prices after a sale, I suppose that's his business. But if he feels that way, why doesn't he just delete the whole darned ad?

They have ALWAYS said:

"We request that you leave your sale prices in the ad when items are sold.
Leaving your sale price will allow folks to search/research what similar items are selling for.
We will lock completed ads when you edit the title to show all items SOLD."

It says that right above this:
The RULES:
