Classy...
I tell ya, I really like these old four and five screw M&P's. That "half-moon" front sight has always caught my eye. To me they have always been one of the classiest looking S&W revolvers ever.

Totally agree on the half-moon front sight. While the serrated ramp might be better for shooting, the older style just looks classier. That's a nice M&P you have there, it's just screaming "shoot me!".

Whether long action or short action, those postwar M&P snubs from 1946 to about 1956 just have a quality that commands interest and respect. Here's mine (again!), a long-action 1947 gun that is quite accurate at the social distances for which it was intended.
(I find the T-grip helps me on K-frame guns, not so much on N-frames.)

Great looking gun. I am very fond of the post-war round butt guns with the pre-war style guns, especially the bottom one with the pre-war style checkering.

I'm always on the lookout for another M&P. Great guns that represent long and proud military, LEO, and civilian service.

1)That is a beautiful specimen!
2)I just looked up the records for my 2" M&P shown in my post above, and it had shipped on October 28, 1946. I'm wondering how close yours had shipped to mine?
