Model 37 Ithaca, Featherweight, Pump, Full Choke, 32” barrel, 20 Gauge Shotgun
I think this Model 37 was made in 1948 (S/N 1951XX) and has the initials “JB” inlaid in the toe of the stock.
I picked this gun up in a trade and have neither fired nor cleaned it. The last thing I want to do is remove the patina.
This old gun is a hunter and if it could talk you would spend the rest of your days sitting by the fire listening to stories. It has some dings and scrapes to prove its character.
I do not have to sell this old gun and prefer to sell it to someone who will appreciate it for what it is; a 63-year old icon of an earlier time and a fine firearm that will serve well for another 63 years. It would break my heart to see it sawed off or a plastic stock installed.
I see no cracks in the wood which is what you expect in many of these old guns. I detect no bulges or dents in the barrel. There are no chunks missing from the “corncob” fore grip. This gun is delightfully light and swings like a pretend gun.
I require a copy of a C&R license or dealer FFL
I am asking $425, shipped in a plastic gun case.
Postal MO or wait for the check to clear.
Trade offers will be considered. I can’t think of any guns I need or want but I do have an interest in Glocks. And of course, I'm a sucker for J-frames.
I can supply more photos but I just had a knee replacement and have to catch my wife napping so I can sneak up and down the stairs to the gunsafe.
Steve
