Default Data Request: Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook, 4th edition.**6/14/12 Update**

I went to my local bookseller yesterday, who over the phone told me they had this on the shelf, only to find that they in fact did not.
My current Lyman reloading manual stops with 300grn cast bullet data for the .44 Mag.
I was told that the 'Cast Bullet Handbook' has what I am looking for.

If anyone has this manual can you let me know what the loads are that are listed for the .44 Mag 310 gr gas check bullet.

Thanks in advance.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6/14/12..................Update.........

I loaded these 310gr Oregon Trail gas checked slugs last week and shot a few over the weekend.

The loads, all 2400, were 15.0, 15.2, 15.4, 15.6 and 15.8.

These were shot off hand at 10 yards, all except the last group which was 15.8grs shot off hand at 20 yards.

All loads grouped similary to the 15.2 pictured.
Unfortunately I moved the target to 20 yards for my last group, which was the 15.8grs of 2400.
This group was all over the paper, acting like a completely different load all together and leaving me with all sorts of questions as to what was happening.
I wish I had shot all at 20 yards and will do so in the near future.

A suggestion; if you want to test the accuracy of your handloads you
should shoot all of your groups at the same distance and over a solid
rest rather than offhand. Keep your shooting as consistant as possible
to test the accuracy of your loads rather than your own ability.

Shooting off hand shows you your abilities. Shooting from a rest shows your more of your loads abilities. There is more involvement that can include your mistakes but accuracy development from offhand shooting is a difficult task.

OK guys, point well taken. My mentor said the same thing some time back.

I will hit the bench next time out with new loads and save the off hand for fun.
