New Owner Checking In.
As an early birthday present to my self, I wanted to pick up my first rifle. I figured having owned various handguns over the last few years (FNX-40, M&P9c, TCP, PT111), adding another to the collection didn't really make sense.
I did a bit of researching around the web, and wanted something that was reliable and cheap to shoot. Plus, the nearest range to me (>5 miles) doesn't allow anything but handgun cartridges, so I knew a .223 wasn't going to work.
I had my heart set on a 15-22 MOE in FDE, but no one locally had any, and it seems they're mostly out of stock online. However, I was able to find a 15-22 (811033) for 499 locally and since I wanted it right then and there I plopped the cash down and immediately walked over to the range.
After 100 flawless rounds, all I can say is damn this thing is all sorts of fun.
And since I couldn't find an MOE, I've been searching the web for magpul goodies, which are equally just as hard to find as the MOE 15-22. I've got the FDE hand guard ladders and the pistol grip on their way to me, but I'll be adding more in the near future.
I think I'll be spending some time on these forums, now that I've got two members of the M&P family.

I know how you feel. My birthday is on Monday. So I went and bought me my first rifle. Check out palmetto state armory for mags they are on sale for 15 n free shipping. I have six mags now. They only thing I can't understand is how you only shot 100 rounds. I've had mine for a week and put over 750 and I'm going shooting tomorrow again and buying a m&p shield in an hour lol. They 15-22 is to Addicting my girl wants one in the pink camo.

I only ran through 100 rounds because that's how the range sold them, I didn't want to drive the 15 minutes to Wal-Mart to pick up the bulk box. Next time however, I'll stop there first. I start vacation this Saturday, I plan on blowing through at least one box of ammo.
Thanks for the heads up on the mags, I definitely need more than the one it came with.

Hint: don't use just your thumb. Use your thumb on one side of the button and your forefinger on the other and put the base of the magazine(s) on something reasonable solid. Your leg will do nicely if you are reloading in front of the TV set.
Welcome to the club!!!

Thanks everyone!
Already have a few parts in route to me. Mostly cosmetic stuff, magpul xt rail covers, and ladders both FDE in color. As well as a Magpul MOE grip. Oh, and I did order two 25rnd mags that were on sale those should be here soon as well.
Since I couldn't find an MOE in locally, just going to do it myself but I've come to realize that the buttstock is proving to be very hard to find anywhere. The search continues.
