Truglo Red Dot + Magpul MBUS
I already got the Truglo Red Dot (picture below) and need to know the height of the riser (1/2", 3/4" or 1") that I need for it to co-witness with the Magpul MBUS. Thanks

According to my measurements, the Magpul MBUS on the 15-22 MOE I have is 1.82" above top of rail. I would presume you would deduct from that the height of your Truglo sight's centerline above the rail, and that would give you the riser height for exact co-witness. You might prefer a lower 1/3 co-witness, which will probably require a riser about 1/8" to 1/4" lower.
I don't see any height dimensions on TruGlo's web site, so you may have to measure it.

/\ Just as the man says, half inch rise will make a perfect co-witness. I have the same set up on my mp15-22.

I use a 1/2" riser with the TruGlo, but that is with the standard sights....works perfect.....also the riser is 6" long, and gives good support to stiffen the upper and handguard if mounted 3" on either side of the connection point....best regards Plum

That is correct. The Truglo in pic looks longer then mine but I think it's just the lens cover throwing off my eyes. With the magpul irons up the red dot just kisses the top of my sight post.

tnx Plumbago and to you Wu_Who for clarifying. Yes it could just be the lens cover. Now off to getting the half inch riser. Any suggestions what brand to get?
When the truglo gets mounted I will try. If I don't like the red dot or if I find that a scope will work better for my poor eyes I will return it and get a scope instead like the NC Star maybe.

ad5md: I also have a Center Point 4x16x40 AO scope and it works very well. You might look at it, it's imported and backed by Crossman and usually available at WalMart. The nice thing it comes with rings, and will mount just fine and you can leave the 1/2 " riser in place. for frame support. You do however have to remove the irons.......best regards Plum

I used two of these risers. Worked out great and a good price.
