Default Price of M65

I seen some used M65's at my local gun store the other day, more than likely police trades they had 6-7. They had a price of $399 on them, is this a good price or not.
Thanks alot,
Steve

3" Round Butt? Yes that's a good price if in excellent condition.

4" Square Butt? In average condition? No, that to me is $50-75 too high depending upon if they have the correct stocks.

To OP;
Sounds about right to me, price varies considerably with condition, barrel length and grips.

That, or a little more, is what a 4" in good shape would go for around here. Grips would likely be beat-up rubber of some type.

If you want one, that's a square deal. It's stainless, so you can clean up the scratches and put new stocks on it. So you'll end up investing about $450 with tax and grips. Buuuuuut, the don't make them anymore. A new 64 is over $600 by comparison - and won't shoot .357.

FWIW, I gave $450 on GunsAmerica a few months ago for a 3" 65-3 round butt w/S&W service grips. It has some dings, and the grips are well worn, but it's fine mechanically. I felt lucky to find one at that price, even with the shipping and transfer fees added in. It's a delightful gun to shoot with 38s of all flavors - I haven't fired a 357 round through it yet (and probably never will.)

$400ish is what I find out here for any K-frame in good condition. Great condition commands quite a bit more premium.
